We use olive oil quite a bit in our cooking and can't afford super expensive brands, but we still want a good flavor. Thanks! What is the best tasting olive oil that you can find for a reasonable price in the supermarket?
I'm an olive oil fanatic, as well as a caterer, and my olive oil of choice is Colavita, and a magazine that I adore (it's just an amazing magazine) Cooks Illustrated, rated it very high for it's bold and full bodied flavor.
Here's a good blog I found for you on olive oils that a bunch of foodies have chimed in on...

Colavita is a very good oil, and not one of the expensive ones.
If you have a really good chain supermarket, try the store brand- I've found the one in my store to be excellent. It's not necessary to use a really good oil for frying or cooking, save those for your salads or to dip bread into.
I have experimented a lot. I always cook with olive oil and have found the same problem between taste and price. So far the best I have found is Carapelli. The thing is, I always use Extra Virgin. Any other pressings I can't speak for.
