What is the difference between “extra virgin oil” and “pure olive oil?

Why the extra virgin is more expensive? What is the difference between “extra virgin oil” and “pure olive oil?
Extra virgin olive oil can contain no refined or treated oils(heat)...where as pure olive oil can contain a combination of refined, virgin,or extra virgin oils...just as long as its olive oil...with no other oils added. The quality isn't the best ...but it is indeed all olive oil....

Extra virgin oils are cold pressed meaning that no heat was applied....but not all extra virgin oils are first pressed... extra virgin oils are judged by taste.not by manner or order of pressing....they must be deemed to have a superior taste. What is the difference between “extra virgin oil” and “pure olive oil?
I am sorry to disagree with the user above me. Extra virgin oil is from the first cold press and is darker and richer in flavor. As the pressings continue the oil becomes lighter and clearer.
When the olives are pressed, usually the first couple of cold presses are considered a lighter and pure taste.
Bingalee is right.
Wall flower is right.
