You shold never use any kind of fat (olive oil) when cooking pasta. It will stick to the noodle and cause the sauce you are using to slip right off. There should be no olive oil in ur recipe either....
so if you are trying to make pasta your self, you can use just eggs, flour and semoilna according to the recipie, but if you are cooking pasta, you can just add some salt to the pan. you don t need olive oil. i ve never used vinigar for my pasta.
Yes; any oil or fat can be used instead of olive oil; obviously, some will taste better than others. And I have never used vinegar in preparing pasta.
most pasta is made with semolina flour, eggs and a bit of salt and maybe a spash of water. You traditionally put olive oil in the water to keep the pasta from sticking when you boil it, but not in the recipe for the dough. You can also use butter, regular oil or none at all when cooking the pasta. here is a link for an easy recipe.
Adding oil to the cooking water is an old wives tale. I have never heard of vinegar in pasta. There are hundreds of pasta recipes that don't use olive oil.
