Can I substitute olive oil for canola oil?

I have a recipe that calls for canola oil in sauteing onions, and all I have is olive oil.Can I substitute olive oil for canola oil?
Olive oil is BEAUTIFUL for cooking with, especially sauteeing onions, garlic, ginger...things like this. It adds a fabulous flavour. And if you take it one step further, olive oil is great when caramelizing onions if you want to cook them more.

I cook with it all the time. Can I substitute olive oil for canola oil?
you can use it for anything you don't need any other oils I have heart things going on and that's all I use it cost a little more but Worth it
Yes that would be just fine and much more tastier! Just not for baking though.
I would actually recommend olive oil above all else. It adds a certain zing to everything.
Extra virgin olive oil has a low smoke point (295 F). Pommace olive oil is the best for sauteing. If all you have is extra virgin olive oil I would say not to use it. It will burn.
sure you can substitute olive oil for canola oil!! in sauting onions!!
Yes you may, at long as flavor is not a factor.

Or if you the taste of olive oil is ok for you and those eating. olive oil will give you additional flavors. If not try light olive oil.
