I drink two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil a day as a source of healthy fats. I don't think of it as replacing food, I think of it as a supplement.Can drinking olive oil to gain fat really replace eating food?
The first thing I'd need to know is why are you wanting to gain fat? Usually gaining muscle and losing fat is desirable. Are you recovering from some serious ailment? Anyway, there are ';good'; fatty acids in olive oil, meaning that the fats found in them are high density lipoproteins (HDL's) and omega-3 and omega-6. Your body needs these, so it is good to find a source for omegas like E.V.O.O. (or fish oil, and a few other good oils). However, since these oils are basically only fatty acids, there is no real substantial nutritional value. Trying to use it in place of foods will lead to vitamin %26amp; mineral deficiencies and intestinal failures (like higher levels of compacted plaque). There are a host of other reasons why one should not attempt such a drastic diet change as what you are proposing, so please do not undertake it without consulting a physician!
