My dad thinks its a good idea to sleep with oil on his hair and left mark on the new expensive pillowcases. How would it come out?
Its a consolation to him that he has a full head of hair, never mind that he ruins one set of bedding after another!!How do I get olive oil out of my pillowcase?
Try soaking it in warm water with Dawn dishwashing liquid added. It will break down the oil on the pillow case just like it does when you wash a pan. It's the only thing I use on oily laundry stains. How do I get olive oil out of my pillowcase?
i dont think the oil got there that way did it?
and i hope it has nothing to do with your dad
Go to www.diy.com and go to the Queen of Clean section. It is a show. You should find that question on there.
It sounds radical, but - lighter fluid! My mother in law taught me about this when I was first married. Sprinkle lighter fluid onto any greasy/ oil-based mark on fabric and rub in gently. Launder as usual and it will be gone! I have even used this method on a silk shirt that got Chinese takeaway down it, and it worked fine.
blotting paper or white printer paper placed over the pillow case and then ironed over keep replacing the paper till it nolonger marks up and then wash at the higher temp recomended for the pillow case with household borax (from any chemist)in with your soap powder
Call Popeye.
Oxi-Clean
The only sure way is to boil the pillowcase.
I work in fast food and always get oil on my shirts and the one thing that I have found that takes the grease out is the orange hand cleaner like mechanics use. It is abrasive so you need to run through an extra rinse cycle, but it works great.
Look for a product called Dr Beckhams Washing powder it removes all stains even oil
Try sprinkling some talcum powder on the area and let it sit for about an hour. Gently massage the powder into the pillow and leave it for about 20 minutes and wash as usual. It will remove all the oil...Good luck.
And yes, by the way, your dad is right that oil not only helps hair growth but is also good for his eyes. When oil is applied to the head, the strain on the eyes is relieved too. It is naturopathy.
If it annoys you, I guess you can put a nice soft piece of cloth over the pillow and let him sleep on it.
talc powder is what the experts would say but i think washing-up liquid left to soak on the stains for about 10-15 mins then put in the washer always works on stains for me, or dove soap (if you can get it were you are) also leave to soak in for a short while, that has sorted many a mishaps for me too.
Good luck!
try dawns liquid or anything like shampoo for oil also oxyclean 4 stains vinager will break it down also and mabe diff pillows 4 only him or a hair net
